I recently hosted my first Community Chat at the Hutto Public Library entitled: Renewing The Healthy You: 10 Easy Tips To Kickstart A Healthy Diet. In it, I talked about the small steps you can take to get started eating healthier meals and snacks. In case you missed it (ICYMI), here they are:
- Be Realistic About Your Goals: Be realistic about what you’d like to achieve.
- Make Small Changes: Start small with your changes.
- Don’t Like Something? Don’t Eat It! Don’t force yourself to eat things you don’t like.
- Be Willing To Try New Options: Step out of your comfort zone and try healthy new foods and snacks.
- Limit Empty Calorie Snacks: It’s okay to have them, just do so in moderation.
- Kick Soda To The Curb: Look for alternatives like water and non-carbonated drinks.
- Limit Your Added Sugar: Take a look at nutrition labels and limit your sugar intake.
- Plan Meals: Developing a calendar for your meals and snacks will make it easier to make healthy choices.
- Add Variety To Your Meal Plan: Switch it up and plan variety into your meals and snacks.
- Move More and Get More Sleep: Regular exercise and sleep will help you feel better.
These are just ten (10) easy tips I found to be extremely helpful when I made my transition into a healthier diet. I hope you found them helpful.
